WOOLY
Viricauda intelligentes wooly
Traits of interest : Enlarged fur-covered nostrils, tall ears, curly hydrophobic fur
This subspecies’s name is a little bit misleading. They don’t actually have wool, rather they have a fur morph that causes the fur to grow curly. After years on Androlla, their fur also became hydrophobic. Their nose being fur covered is thought to be because of how wet their environment already was, and the enlargement of their nostrils and sinus cavity is to assist in filtering air that is thick with humidity. On Hysia, they are found in tropical areas such as the Verdan Rainforest. Their ears appear to just be a natural morph that has become dominant in their populations. Wooly viris are the second most discriminated subspecies, being seen as “alluring but untrustworthy”, as the wooly fur morph is considered very attractive.
