Traits of interest : Fur covered paw pads, large ears

 

Having evolved on the harsh exoplanet of Ignit, these Viris are well adapted to the heat. Out of all subspecies, Dusty Viris look the most similar to their Canis relatives, with the only differences being fur-covered paw pads for managing intense heat, and larger than average ears for temperature regulation. 

 

Many factors have led to the Dusty Viri being the most oppressed subspecies of Viritail. The dirty working conditions of Ignit had much to do with their reputation, along with the fact that they often live in hotter and underdeveloped communities on Hysia. They are stereotyped as stupid, untrustworthy lowlifes, who don’t want to work their weight in society. The fact that they look the most similar to Canis Viris, and yet "aren't perfect” has also contributed heavily to these stereotypes. Dusty’s are often referred to as “Dust Dogs” in a demeaning way. Dusty Viris can, and frequently do, shave their paw pads to pretend to be Canis instead to avoid prejudice in more dangerous areas, or gain opportunities not usually available to them.
