MOONTAILS

Moontails are genetically engineered versions of Viritails, being created for military purposes, entertainment, and scientific research. They have a complex and controlled trait list, ranging from common traits all the way to legendary ones. There are two main types of Moontails: Wild and Soldiers. Wild Moontails are those that have either been released into Tersca or have been born there. Soldiers are Moontails that were synthesized and raised for militaristic uses.

Moontails, being based on Viritails, by default walk on two legs. However, traits have been developed to allow two legged Moontails to run on all fours (known as the Switch Pose torso), and to convert them to completely quadruped (the Feral Pose torso). Culturally, it has been noted that quadruped and biped Moontails have no interest in being anything more than friends. Even biped Moontails that have a switch pose torso will not find fully quad Moontails to be attractive. In addition, the amount of modifying it took to make Moontails quadruped in the first place means that they can not interbreed with biped Moontails. The two pose types are completely incompatible, and they find the idea of romancing each other highly disturbing.

(There are STRICT RULES around quad Moontails, so please check rule 3!)

Every Moontail is branded with a name code. This is an identifying marker that tells any scientist observing them what traits they have. This lets them document the affects different traits have on a living entity. Wild born Moontails are also branded, but only after they have been weaned off of their mother. In their sleep, a small drone is piloted to silently brand them. The mother notices the branding, but since each individual has it, this is just considered to be normal. Moontails recognize the branding as a “name” of sorts, but they have their own pronunciation that is nowhere near what the scientists intend it to say. No Moontail goes un-recorded.

Moontails are name code exclusive. No two Moontails can have the same code. But they can have nicknames, or the same name with a code variation! Dashes, dots, and other number substitutions are often used to differentiate similarly named Moontails.

Example: Aurora (4UR0R4) and Aurora (AUR0R4) can be two different characters with the same name because their codes are different!

TRAIT LIST

Below is the list of traits currently available for Moontails. This list gets updated frequently, as our scientists are always discovering new ones! Traits that are new are marked with a star. ★

Some categories contain traits that overlap, so you are allowed to pick more than one trait per category. For instance, you may choose both the Canis Viri Snout trait and the Whiskers trait, but you can not choose Whisker Viri Snout AND Canis Viri Snout, as that would make no sense.
